Who: Amaranth and RECRUITS
Where: The Dead Zone
When: Day 216, 9:00am
[ Despite the name, it's perfectly comfortable in the Dead Zone—at least if you're not an audition or otherwise hell-corrupted, whoops. But for this endeavor, the fact that neither abilities nor cameras function here is too ideal to pass up.
Amaranth arrives forty five minutes early, looking perhaps more overtly like a general than usual in her temporary Heart Soldier uniform. She has brought along a whole bundle of wooden staves.
Time to see what she's working with, here. ]
(( OOC Note: The initial thread for this was here; however, if you are not playing a known audition, feel free to handwave your character getting involved.
I will not be threading out actual instruction, and future training will be structured like the first aid classes—that is, handwaved unless specific interaction is requested. ))

Look he's not even here because he agreed to, but you're invading his (it's not his) park, and other Taisho's are here so he'll get involved one way or another because he's trying to nap in that tree and you're making a ruckus.

COMMANDERS
Amaranth would have requested that Scale Commanders (yes, Exalted uses very extra-sounding dragon-based military terminology) arrive early to coordinate with her. ]

TRAINING
First, Amaranth distributes quarterstaves and sets people up for a series of sparring matches. These are sturdy, springy hickory wood, fully suitable for combat—no practice staves here, we die like women. This can be threaded out with each other if you want!
Next, she divides everyone into "fangs": groups of five, or as close to that as can be managed. Fangs are deliberately designed to include mixed skill levels. Each commander oversees at least one fang.
As an instructor, Amaranth is attentive and exacting, with her standards increasing proportionate to the skill each person shows. That is: She is gentle and encouraging with less advanced students, and incredibly strict with more advanced ones. Training emphasizes attack formations and covering one another's weaknesses while fighting in groups.
This portion will be almost entirely handwaved because I the player am not, in fact, a military genius irl. ]
