I'd say he's one of my best friends, if not my best friend overall, and—you should probably ask him about it. Yes. He says he doesn't know what it means, but I suspect he has guesses that he just... prefers not to talk about.
So much of his kindness seems reserved for quiet actions rather than words, but I've felt it is there, all the same, even if he won't quite admit that he does anything out of the ordinary.

...What do you mean? Persephone said he had been in the game when it was run last, and—I had no idea this form of torment wasn't new, but...
Was the game especially difficult on him? I hadn't realized he confided in you to that extent.
Re: Shrike
[ she looks a little bit like she's not sure how much she should say. ]
...just, well. I know he deals better with ghosts than I do.
Re: Shrike
There aren't normally ghosts in this place. Just Creation. [ the implication left hanging in the air ]
Re: Shrike

Re: Shrike
[ uneasy ] Is Persephone also... [ her son's quiet resignation, the way both his and Shrike's hair had turned white ] ...like that?
Re: Shrike
[ as much as he’s sure he’s different—she’s not, entirely. ]
He hears them. He didn’t listen like I did, I suppose.
Re: Shrike
[ her fingers twist anxiously in her lap ]
I suppose I should ask him, then.
Re: Shrike
[ she pauses. ]

Re: Shrike
I hadn't realized. He always seems to keep people quietly at arm's length, so...
[ Is she envious? A little, she has to admit. ]
I'm glad to know that he has you, at least. And you him, for that matter.

Re: Shrike
I think I can also start to see the resemblance now, though. Er, in personality, I mean; obviously you look quite similar.
