[ It's not that he thinks poorly of the other members of Lilis, so much as he thinks at the end of the day he'll probably run into the same sticking point he had with the rest of HSS. ]
I...not to speak poorly of anyone, but most of Heart Soldier are also the type who'd rather sacrifice themselves if it meant protecting people they care about, or holding true to their beliefs. Which is well and good and it's not as if they're eager to die, except it's...it's hard to stand it when it feels like few would return the sentiment.
I don't even think the other units act with malice, it's just...no matter how much we may like others, or others may like us, at the end of the day everyone has priorities. The only ones who can always take care of us is ourselves but... [ He shakes his head. ]
...Even though they promised to try when I'm around, it feels like I'm just holding them back from what they want to do.
To say the least. [ Noting that she phrased it as a statement. ] I'm not -- saying they're okay with dying, but sometimes I feel like Abi and I are the only ones who'd prioritise us staying alive than not.
And...one of the abilities our unit can get just cheapens death further. I can't say I felt reassured when some of them told me they got it hoping they can use it to help people.
...You mean that one which lets you do a sort of necromancy, preserving your souls so that the body can fight on after death?
[ her lips twist unhappily ]
Of all the abilities available to the idols here, it is easily the most unsettling.
I am not sure I can bring myself to fault them for their selfless intentions. However, past a certain point... as with LiliS, I begin to wonder if that behavior means that your teammates do not see themselves as people worth saving. Heart Soldier's lives have value too.
I've seen it in action. It's -- it's awful and I hate that the 'Producers' even gave the option to us. [ He thinks back to Hurricane full of holes and missing an arm, Mori getting decapitated and chopped up, and he grimaces.
...He flusters when Amaranth say that last line, though. ]
[ Okay time to recompose himself, he has something serious to say about his opinion on the rest of HSS. ]
...I think it's less that they don't see themselves as worth saving. I hope so, anyway. [ They don't give him the impression of being people who have a low sense of self-worth, though on the other hand he's not a mindreader himself. ] Rather, they...are the kind of people who just think about other people first, then think they can worry about themselves afterwards, or consider harming themselves more...something they can live with. Hell, even King who normally tends to be, uhm. More pragmatic, he told me he'd rather sacrifice us over someone from home.
Some of them feel that they can't bear damning other people to save themselves and would prefer death than hurt people they care about. A couple of them straight up told me they don't care about dying but...well, I kind of understand why one of them feels that way, 'cause apparently even before all this nonsense he's died multiple times back home.
I just -- I can't agree with the idea that it's somehow more acceptable for us to be hurt and die because the pain is temporary. It's the height of hypocrisy to say it's okay to endure pain and death because we don't want to have to see our loved ones piece themselves back together and then...put them in the reversed role. Making them watch us have to deal with our wounds afterwards.

[ a pause, considering him ]
LiliS is tired of dying, though, now. And you are too. [ she deliberately does not phrase it as a question ]

Your life matters to me very much, for example.
